I tried to use searchWiki by google yesterday!

So what you need to do is just logging in to google account,
and you will find some unfamiliar links next to the result of search.
One is to "pick up" and one it to "delete" the result.

Now we had a question. It looks this feature works
only for exact the same query. Which means,
even if you delete one of the results for a query "noodle",
when you try "noodle Japanese", the deleted result comes up again.
    ...isn't it a bit irritating?

So our main opinion was "well....I wouldn't use this."
Now the next question. What is this feature for, then?
    ....Google, isn't it?

    And another question.
With this feature, you also can comment on the results.
These "pickup", "delete", "comment", it looks all your action
is published to all over the world compulsorily.
For example, when you delete a result,
it also shows "Bob and Jane deleted this result",
and by clicking "All notes for this searchWiki",
you can preview comments by others.
Also, I'm not sure if it's bug or not,
but my test comment remains there despite I deleted it.
Isn't it annoying for the website which was used as test?
Now the result for query "google" is full of test comments at the moment.

To be honest, I don't like this feature.
First of all, which is the concept of this feature,
    "Personal customisation tool" or
    "Let's edit the result together! (=wiki)" ?
To me, it looks a bit mixed and confused.
At least, I assume everyone wants the option to turn if off...

Thinking like that, I tried another query but the feature doesn't work...

    So, the onedotzero report No.2.

For some reasons, I went to see another movie named "j-star08"
on Sunday. It consists of short motion graphics by 20 Japanese
creators, including music video, short animation, adverts etc...
and it was much better than I expected!

The director of the event talked at the beginning,
but he said he liked Japanese film directors
and is still interested in Japanese movie creators,
and direct this j-star for onedotzero.
I'm really happy to hear someone is interested in Japanese creators.

    So, we had these movies.
    1. Yoshiyuki Komatsu [Power Graphics] : "asadoya yunta"
    2. Takeo Hatai : "alter ego"
    3. Hitoshi Takekiyo : "after school midnight"
    4. Koichiro Tsujikawa : "omstart" (Cornelius)
    5. Satoshi Tomioka : "Usavich - beware of dance"
    6. Mizuhiro Savini : "diedisco"
    7. Takafumi Tsuchiya : "spen za nite qiz dis sit"
    8. Hideyuki Tanaka : "hello_8bit edition" ram rider
    9. Kosai Sekine : "maledict car" jemapur
    10. Mamoru Kano : "New Moon"
    11. Tetsuo Suzuka : "clear skies in may"
    12. Hiroshi Matsumoto : "fishing"
    13. Mamoru Kano : "scramble crossroad"
    14. Tsuyoshi Hirooka + Yohei Ito : "yosowya san"
    15. Satoshi Tomioka : "Usavich - beware of checkpoints"
    16. Ichiro Sato : "evening before hang over"
    17. k+me : "screaming dance" Leonard de Leonard
    18. Junji Kojima : "you-you-you"
    19. Makoto Yabuki : "confines" lyoma
    20. Kan Eguchi : "cosplay" nike id
    21. Satoshi Tomioka : "Usavich - beware of assault"

    What I liked was:
    1. It was a combination of graphic like space and Japanese music,
    which looks exactly like "j-star"!
    4. I really liked that song...Graphics was amazing too.
    5. I'm sure people think Japanese are crazy...lol Evil rabbits.
    9. It looked like a shining Kaleidoscope, and I couldn't see
what it was first, but realised all the images were familiar scenary in Japan!
    11. Typical Japanese graphics...but it was a good tempo,
and not boring. My boyfriend really like it.
    20. Oh, this one was so funny~~~ I love it. You should watch this!

So, it seems you can watch most of them on the internet,
but it was so nice to see them in a big theatre.

I went to see the event "onedotzero" last weekend with my friends.
It's an event of "motion image", and it seems it was held in Japan last year as well.

As the website says "There are some interactive installations",
so I was so looking forward to it. But they are not so big...
I'd like to upload some of them.

So, the film we saw was called "Tokyo!" by three creators
    including Michel Gondry.
Each three world was extremely funny and weird,
but I still thought they captured some aspects of Tokyo sharply.
I like the one by Michel Gondry the best!
I was also so surprised that Satoshi Tsumabuki was in the film.

It was fun to talk with my friends about Japan after that.
You might have a question, "Does actually 'hikikomori'
(people who don't get out from their room) exist?"

    ...yes.

Anyway, I went to see another one by Japanese creators too,
but I'd like to write about it next time.

  • Quantum Of Solace

I went to see 007! Daniel Craig is sooooo cooool.

I was so surprised how big the cinema, ODEON leicester was.
    Almost 1700 sheets!? Can't believe...
(Is it true that there is bigger cinema is US?)
But almost all sheets were full. I assume people in this country
    love James Bond after all.

I don't write the details of the film here, but a bit of my impression.
So, this film is by Sony Pictures, the story is quite straight forward
and all the gadgets 007 uses is made by Sony!
Ok, that can't be helped, but compared to the previous film
which was quite exciting as the beginning of a dramatic story,
this time it was rather more actions and less drama.
Maybe that is because the film is sequence...

Anyway, the interface of the system MI6 uses looked so cool.

Now again it is about the cinema, but it's compatible with 35mm, 70mm,
and digital format, audio is Dolby, SDDS, DTS.
The graphics in the opening sequence looked fantastic.
Some people don't like digital movies because the format reduces
    the typical quality of film...
but I like it. Clear but still smooth edge.
I could see such a detailed texture.

So, again, I'd like to shout this.
    Daniel Craig is so cool.

    The website is here.

  • To study English and to study in English

It's been four weeks since the course started.
Still suffering from a lack of English ability,
I'm enjoying the course anyway. So today I'd like to
write about studying English and studying in English.

To be honest, I don't like studying English.
I really don't understand grammar or these things.
But the reason why I still challenging it is because
I can see a lot of new world if I can use English properly.
"New world" could have some different meaning,
but what I'm trying now, studying in English, is one of them.

I know, it's really tough, especially if you can't understand
grammar or words critically, you need to stop your study
and then need to start English itlsef, which means it takes so long.
Precisely, it's the same about studying in your mother tongue,
but if you want to study specialised subject in higher education,
it can't be possible to understand everything just be reading one book.
You have to read lots of references, hear lectures, discuss with mates,
and then you will start understanding it a bit, and now
when you try to express these interpretation in your own words,
sometimes you can understand a bit more.
That means.....you need to have an ability to process
all these information in English in a reasonable speed.
That means.....you need to study English beforehand. Sigh.

I think how to study English is up to the person.
In my case, I was so lucky to meet a really good language teacher.
In her class, I tried to read, write and discuss as much as I could at that time.
It was a very hard class, but I still appreciate the teacher.

Another lucky thing for me was to be given a chance to use
English in seminar. My final goal of language study is to be able to
work as professional internationally. Study at that seminar
was valuable for me as the first step of it.

Well, I had some chances to use English at the office after BA,
but I can't remember how many times I had to cry with disappointment.
Using English in society means a kind of real fighting.
If your performance is not good enough as you are supposed to do,
the result would be being snubbed, or being sympathised,
or they would click their tongue and that's it,...what a tough society.

Anyway, experiencing these things, now I'm in London,
but still feeling so disappointed by myself everyday.
In particular, it's so difficult to express my concepts properly, logically.
Well, usually that disappointment leads to the next step though...
After all it is still a practice before jumping into the society,
I'd like to try anything before worrying too much.

    A little by little.....
